On July 20, 2018, The K I S Foundation, Inc., The County of Los Angeles and Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, in partnership with the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California came together for the Inaugural "Crisis Care Package" Backpack Giveaway at Camp Crescent Moon.
We distributed over 120 Backpacks to SCD Camp Attendees and other SCD Patients who were unable to attend due to hospitalization, illness, and other conflicts. Each backpack contained numerous items to benefit the kids before, during, and after a Sickle Cell Crisis.
Members of The KIS Foundation greeted the eager Campers in the main cabin. We educated them on the issues and care needed for Sickle Cell Disease patients during a Sickle Cell Crisis. Following our discussion we provided each camper with a Crisis Care Package Backpack.
"I am so excited that The KIS Foundation was able to provide the Crisis Care Package Backpacks to such amazing young people who really need it. We hope to continue this partnership with Camp Crescent Moon and help improve the lives of SCD patients." - KiKi Shepard

We are so honored to be a Community Partner in District 2. We could not do our work without all of your support and collaboration.
