Women In Prison SCD Outreach Initiative |

The “Women in Prison SCD Outreach Initiative” has been designed to provide women in the California penal system - specifically the Valley State Prison facility - a source of help and strength as they deal with SCD, while incarcerated. Our goals are to identify how women in the California penal system who suffer from SCD; provide and distribute informational literature throughout the V.S.W.P. facility to help these women who suffer with SCD better understand and cope with their disease; and arrange for qualified medical officials to enter into the California penal system as guest speakers to assist with providing educational advice about SCD testing, treatments, and, ways of prevention.
